Discussions of the Steve Moore - The Guest Album

Ochach
There is a 2 LP version by J-2 Music on the Record Store Day 2016 list.
Rainpick
That release is the soundtrack. It's a great 80's goth collection but it is completely different material to what is found here.

Poor quality vinyl, flimsy sleeve. Same as a lot of recent DW records since they were bought by Mondo, makes you wonder why they're still so expensive...
Anayalore
Was excited to snag this release and quickly found out I made the noob mistake of thinking it was the same as the OST floating around which it is NOT (OST is digital only AFAIK). Be aware! Red copy was nice and flat but had what I can only describe as a high noise floor; less noticeable via speakers versus headphone.
Maucage
Excellent score and the closest Steve has come to sounding like vintage John Carpenter/Alan Howarth. However, this red vinyl is actually closer to orange and is a pretty thin, poor quality which is unlike most Death Waltz releases. The edges of the vinyl are especially poor, sharp, and not entirely trimmed. I would hope the black vinyl will improve upon this.
Acrobat
Bummer! I'm honestly surprised it didn't get the 180 gram treatment. Its too fragile so I ripped it to MP3 so won't be playing it much on the turntable.
Madis
i agree with you koobyjoo. my copy has a very sharp prickly spike on the edge. Great soundtrack though!
