He instead threw together a rough-and-ready crew of roadhouse pickers he dubbed the Fallen Angels Emmylou Harris, thankfully, was available to make the trip, and they began making their way through America's rock clubs and honky tonks. Live 1973 is a live album by Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels. It was recorded at Ultra-Sonic Studios in Hempstead, New York on March 13, 1973 during a live radio broadcast from WLIR-FM, a station located in Garden City, New York. Parsons's touring band, the Fallen Angels, play with fire and looseness, especially Neil Flanz on pedal steel, and, of course, the wonderful Emmylou Harris harmonizes ever so passionately with the lead Fallen Angel.
